International Thomson is a strong proponent of progressive-scan ATV and has proposed two such schemes for NTSC countries, both of which would offer a 16:9 aspect ratio and 60 frames per second. One would have 900 scanning lines (864 active), matching the number of scanning lines in International Thomson’s proposal for non-NTSC countries. The other would have 750 scanning lines (728 active), matching the digitization rates in the non-NTSC proposal.
